The Busy Month of March

March was a very busy and exciting month in Scoil Iosagáin as we celebrated both St. Patrick’s Day and Easter in style.

For St. Patrick’s Day we all dressed in green and celebrated our Irish culture, language  and heritage. We welcomed our children in the morning with Irish music echoing throughout the yard. We assembled in the hall to enjoy performances of Irish dancing and Irish music –  Rebecca and Ronan playing the banjo and violin, while Johanna and her friends performed Irish dances and danced with our young students.

All our classes performed songs ‘as Gaeilge’ and displayed their Irish dancing skills .We remembered St. Patrick, our patron saint, and how he told the Irish people about God and how much God loves us.

We had a St. Patrick’s Day Parade around the school and our pupils waved at our very own St. Patrick, our caretaker Billy taking on the mantle!

The Easter Bunny paid a surprise visit on March 21st, and all pupils received a chocolate  surprise. On Friday 22nd, we had an Assembly to  recount the Story of Easter and celebrate with our ‘Hip Hip Hoppity’ dance.

We had a ‘Yard Disco’ at lunch time and we were very impressed by the moves, fun and level of engagement.
