Scoil Iosagain was a magical place to be during December. There was an air of natural childhood wonder, joy and excitement as we prepared to celebrate the wonderful celebration of Christmas.
Our Christmas tree twinkled with the stars the children made and hung on the tree. Carols and Christmas songs echoed throughout the school. Children stood to gaze at the crib, visualising the events of that first Christmas.
We had ‘Breakfast with the Elves’ where 6TH class pupils from Convent Primary School served cereal to our pupils in the halla to a background of Christmas songs. This is an event that children eagerly await each year and a highlight in the Christmas calendar.
Santa also came to visit with a gift for all pupils. This is a fundraising event organised nationally to support Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
Our senior Infants performed their Christmas Nativity Play for family and friends. This spread the message of Christmas so beautifully, full of wonder and awe.
They also took part in the Community Nativity in the local church, capturing once again the true meaning of Christmas.
