February 2026

We celebrated the arrival of Spring and St. Brigid’s Day with our annual visit from Benjie Hallihan, who made St. Brigid’s crosses in all our classrooms as well as entertaining the children with story and song.

We also began our ‘Train with Shane’ programme, where all classes participated in outdoor and indoor  station activities daily to support a parent in our Early Intervention Autism class, who undertook the ‘Hell & Back Challenge’, to raise vital funds for our school. Shane visited our school on February 27th and did a training session with all our classes. This was a huge success and the children loved the activities. We wish him all the best for his upcoming challenge.

His effort and sacrifice will make a very positive contribution to all pupils in our school, and we are most thankful and grateful for his huge effort and support.

Our Integrated Play Theme for February was ‘The Vet’ and the children had great fun bringing their sick pets to the vet , as well as making calls for the vet to visit sick animals on their farms.

We also celebrated a very special day in our calendar , which was Grandparents Day. Grandparents and Significant Adults were invited to a Meet & Greet in the school. They then visited relevant classrooms, where children asked questions about their school days ,and entertained their audience with songs, poems and dance. It was a hugely successful and significant event , and indeed , emotional for some!

On February 17th, Pancake Tuesday, children had fun flipping pancakes and enjoyed a nice pancake with toppings.
