The Day the Farm Came to School

The Farm visited our school on Friday the 27th of May. It was a great day in our school calendar. While all children got to visit the farm it was also the school tour for our Junior infants and Rang Gerry, Ruth and Peig. The animals were met with great excitement by our children. Goats and dogs were taken for a walk around the pitch. Chicks and rabbits were placed on childrens laps. Children were very excited to rub and hold these animals. A beautiful pig was enjoying the freedom of the pitch, much to the amusement of the children! Ger Cleary, our farmer, even showed the children Rosie the Donkeys teeth. Ger came all the way from Limerick and brought a calf, lambs, a goat and kids, kittens and a beautiful dog. He was with us all day. This enabled some children from other schools to avail of this precious experience.

Thank you to the Convent Primary for giving us the pitch for the day. Thanks also to Ms. Murphy and the Junior Infant Teachers for organising such a wonderful day in our school.
