March was a very busy month in Scoil Iosagáin, with lots of active and fun-filled learning.
The children were busy making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. We all got to eat some delicious pancakes with lovely toppings.
We celebrated World Book Day, where children dressed up as their favourite book character, and also brought in their favourite book. It was a delight to see all the happy faces and various costumes as the children told us all about their chosen character.
This a day we look forward to each year as we focus the children’s attention on the magic of literature and encourage a love of reading.
Children also visit the local library, and receive membership cards for parents to fill out. We encourage parents/guardians to avail of this great service to develop their child’s language skills, literacy and imagination.
We had special visitors on the day also, Irish musicians who played the fiddle and the concertina, and some accomplished young Irish dancers. The children were captivated by the skills of our young performers.
