There was an air of magic in Scoil Iosagáin as the children excitedly prepared for the celebration of Christmas. Our Christmas tree was beautifully decorated by the children with glittering stars they made in class.
The sound of Christmas songs being sung echoed throughout the school, and the Senior Infants rehearsed for their Nativity Play.
The school was decorated with wonderful art which the children made, turning it into a virtual Winter Wonderland.
In the true spirit of Christmas, the children made gifts for our friends and neighbours in Brídhaven Nursing Home, and all the children enjoyed their visit, meeting with residents and performing their Christmas songs for them. We wish to thank Brídhaven for the lovely treats the children received.
We had a visitor from the Convent Primary School, their Assistance Dog, Frank. The children all got to meet Frank, and even wanted to keep him!
Our Christmas surprise was a special visit from the man himself, Santa Claus, who arrived in the Convent Primary School Yard in his sleigh. The excitement was palpable as the children jumped and cheered as they welcomed him. The children donated €2 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital, who organised the event.
Santa also brought a selection box for all the children. We wish to thank the Parent’s Association for all their support. Their Christmas Raffle was a great success, with lovely prizes on offer.
